Holi: The Hindu Festival of Color

Apr16

On Saturday, I photographed my first Holi festival in Wilson Park in Fayetteville. Holi is a Hindu festival each spring where people take to the streets and throw colored powder and water all over each other. (Long story short.) I’ve been wanting to photograph this in India for years, but I guess a local park is good enough for now. :)

Put on by the Friends of India, there were some delicious samosas and other Indian goodies, and a lot of people showed up!

More images after the jump, and click here to see even more on Flickr.

Also, the photographer is not immune to color…just FYI.
